It’s been an emotional week for the entire staff at Calfie Resort as the team bid farewell to our long-term serving FnB and Kitchen Manager, chef Nelson Ayugi. Mr Ayugi has had over 45 years of experience in the hospitality industry, having worked in Calfie since it’s inception in November 2020.
The staff described him as a strict and discipline oriented leader, who needed nothing but exemplary performance from each person.”You can’t lead any hotel business without strictness. It’s the stepping stone to success,” was Chef Ayugi’s parting shot.
The resort staff also organized a home care package and a farewell party to share their final moments with the colleague, who was like a father figure with parental advice and a career coach to everyone. The event also entailed rewarding the staff who did splendidly well in various departments during his tenure.Once a leader, always one, Mr Ayugi shall still be engaged on time to time basis at Calfie Resort as a consultant due to his verse wealth of knowledge and experience in the hotel industry.
